George Orson Welles 6 May 1915 Kenosha, Wisconsin - 10 Oct 1985 Los Angeles) was an American actor, director, writer, and producer celebrated for ground breaking work in theatre, radio, and film. He gained fame with his 1938 radio broadcast of The War of the Worlds, and his debut film Citizen Kane (1941) is lauded as one of cinema’s greatest achievements.
