Audubon, John James
John James Audubon was an American ornithologist and illustrator. He came to America in 1803 and is revered for his extensive studies documenting all types of American birds and for his detailed illustrations depicting the birds in their natural habitats.. He is best known for his main work ‘The Birds of America’, a collection of 435 hand-shaded drawings of American birds. Even today, the work is still considered as a benchmark of drawing skills for natural painters. Working in partnership with The Fitzwilliam Museum and Chatsworth House, we offer a selection of his works as fine art prints.
