Known for vivid portraits, iconic California swimming pool scenes like A Bigger Splash, and later Yorkshire landscapes, his work spans oils, printmaking, photography, and iPad drawings. In 2018, his Portrait of an Artist (Pool with Two Figures) sold for $90 million, a record for a living artist.
