William Clark Gable (1 Feb 1901 Cadiz, Ohio - 16 Nov 1960 Los Angeles) was an American actor celebrated as the “King of Hollywood,” renowned for his rugged charm and leading roles during cinema’s Golden Age. He won an Academy Award for It Happened One Night (1934) and earned nominations for Mutiny on the Bounty (1935) and as Rhett Butler in Gone with the Wind (1939). A decorated WWII veteran, he appeared in over 60 films, with his final role in The Misfits (1961) released posthumously. He is part of the golden age of Hollywood and the silver screen series of photographs.
