Anthony Perkins (4 Apr 1932 New York City - 12 Sep 1992 Hollywood, Los Angeles) was an American actor best known for his chilling portrayal of Norman Bates in Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho (1960), a role he reprised in three sequels, directing Psycho III. Nominated for an Academy Award for Friendly Persuasion (1956), he built a diverse career in Hollywood and European cinema, also co-writing The Last of Sheila. Perkins died in 1992 from AIDS-related causes, leaving a lasting legacy in film history. He is part of the golden age of Hollywood and the silver screen series of photographs.
