Sir Alfred Joseph Hitchcock (13 Aug 1899 Leytonstone - 29 Apr 1980 Bel Air, Los Angeles) was an English-born American filmmaker celebrated as the “Master of Suspense” for his mastery of tension, psychological depth, and innovative cinematic techniques. Over six decades, he directed more than 50 features, including classics like Vertigo, Psycho, Rear Window, North by Northwest, and The Birds, earning global acclaim, a BAFTA Fellowship, AFI Life Achievement Award, and a 1979 knighthood. He is part of the golden age of Hollywood and the silver screen series of photographs.
