Rising to fame post-WWII with Blithe Spirit and The Importance of Being Earnest, she won an Oscar and Golden Globe for The V.I.P.s (1963) and charmed global audiences as Miss Marple in 1960s Agatha Christie adaptations. She was made a Dame in 1967 and remains a beloved icon of British cinema. She is part of the golden age of Hollywood and the silver screen series of photographs.
