Marlene Dietrich (27 Dec 1901 Berlin - 6 May 1992 Paris) was a German-American actress and singer whose career spanned nearly seven decades, from 1920s Berlin cabarets to Hollywood stardom and international stage tours. Catapulted to fame as Lola-Lola in The Blue Angel (1930), she became a style icon known for her androgynous elegance and sultry voice. A staunch anti-Nazi, she entertained Allied troops in WWII and later appeared in classics like Morocco, Shanghai Express, and Witness for the Prosecution.
