Marlene Dietrich (27 Dec 1901 Berlin - 6 May 1992 Paris) was a German-American actress and singer whose career spanned nearly seven decades, from 1920s Berlin cabarets to Hollywood stardom and international stage tours. Catapulted to fame as Lola-Lola in The Blue Angel (1930), she became a style icon known for her androgynous elegance and sultry voice. A staunch anti-Nazi, she entertained Allied troops in WWII and later appeared in classics like Morocco, Shanghai Express, and Witness for the Prosecution. She is part of the golden age of Hollywood and the silver screen series of photographs.
