Stewart Granger (6 May 1913 Kensington - 16 Aug 1993 Santa Monica, California), born James Lablache Stewart, was a British actor famed for heroic and romantic leads from the 1940s to early 1960s. Rising to prominence in Gainsborough melodramas like The Man in Grey and Fanny by Gaslight, he became a Hollywood swashbuckler in hits such as King Solomon’s Mines, Scaramouche, and The Prisoner of Zenda. Known for his tall, dark, debonair persona, he later worked extensively in Europe and on television. He is part of the golden age of Hollywood and the silver screen series of photographs.
