Kirk Douglas (9 Dec 1916 Amsterdam, New York - 5 Feb 2020 Beverly Hills, California), born Issur Danielovitch, was an American actor, producer, author, and philanthropist whose intense screen presence made him a leading star of Hollywood’s Golden Age. He earned three Oscar nominations for films like Champion, The Bad and the Beautiful, and Lust for Life, and broke the Hollywood blacklist by openly crediting Dalton Trumbo on Spartacus. Over six decades, he appeared in 90+ films, won a Golden Globe, an honorary Oscar, and the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
