George Raft (26 Sep 1901 New York City - 24 Nov 1980 Los Angeles) was an American actor and dancer best known for portraying gangsters in 1930s–40s Hollywood films. Rising from a career as a celebrated dancer, he broke through as coin-flipping Guino Rinaldo in Scarface (1932) and starred in Each Dawn I Die, They Drive by Night, and later spoofed his tough-guy image in Some Like It Hot (1959). His off-screen ties to real mob figures added to his notoriety but sometimes hindered his career. He is part of the golden age of Hollywood and the silver screen series of photographs.
