Lana Turner (8 Feb 1921 Wallace, Idaho - 29 Jun 1995 Century City, Los Angeles, California), born Julia Jean Turner, was an American actress and Hollywood icon whose nearly five-decade career spanned from ingénue roles to acclaimed dramas. Rising to fame with They Won’t Forget (1937), she became MGM’s glamorous “Sweater Girl” and starred in classics like The Postman Always Rings Twice, The Bad and the Beautiful, Peyton Place, Imitation of Life, and Madame X. Her turbulent private life, including the 1958 Stompanato scandal, kept her in the spotlight as much as her films. She is part of the golden age of Hollywood and the silver screen series of photographs.
