Claudia Cardinale (15 Apr 1938 La Goulette - 23 Sep 2025 Nemours) was a Tunisian-born Italian actress whose six-decade career made her an icon of European cinema. Rising to fame in the 1960s with films like Rocco and His Brothers, 8½, The Leopard, and Once Upon a Time in the West, she became known for her beauty, strength, and versatility. A champion of women’s rights and UNESCO goodwill ambassador, she appeared in over 175 films before her death in 2025 at 87. She is part of the golden age of Hollywood and the silver screen series of photographs.
