Buster Keaton (4 Oct 1895 Piqua, Kansas - 1 Feb 1966 Woodland Hills, Los Angeles), born Joseph Frank Keaton, was an American actor, comedian, filmmaker, and stuntman famed for his silent-era physical comedy, daring stunts, and deadpan expression that earned him the nickname “The Great Stone Face.” Rising from vaudeville roots, he created classics like Sherlock Jr., The General, and Steamboat Bill, Jr.. Despite a career downturn after losing creative control at MGM, he enjoyed a revival in later years and won an Honorary Academy Award in 1960. He is part of the golden age of Hollywood and the silver screen series of photographs.
