Bob Hope (29 May 1903 Eltham, London - 27 Jul 2003 Toluca Lake, Los Angeles), born Leslie Townes Hope, was a British-born American comedian, actor, and entertainer whose career spanned nearly 80 years across vaudeville, Broadway, radio, film, and television. Known for his rapid-fire one-liners, USO tours from WWII to the Gulf War, and 19-time Oscar hosting, he starred in over 50 films including the "Road to..." series with Bing Crosby. A major philanthropist, he received the Presidential Medal of Freedom and an honorary knighthood. He is part of the golden age of Hollywood and the silver screen series of photographs.
