Modern artist Henri Émile Benoît Matisse was a French visual artist, known for both his use of colour and his fluid and original draughtsmanship. These cut-outs formed the prototypes for ‘Jazz’, a limited edition art book containing prints accompanied by the artist’s thoughts. ‘Destiny’ was the 16th image in the book, a predominantly Fuschia composition filled with organic shapes.
