A star of classics like A Tale of Two Cities, Lost Horizon, and The Prisoner of Zenda, he earned three Oscar nominations before winning Best Actor for A Double Life (1947). He also enjoyed radio fame in The Halls of Ivy. He is part of the golden age of Hollywood and the silver screen series of photographs.
