Mark Rothko was a Latvian-born American abstract painter and was associated with the American abstract expressionism movement of modern art. 'Untitled' by Mark Rothko painted in 1958. By 1947 Rothko had largely abandoned traditional titles for his abstract expressionist paintings as he wanted his work to remain ambiguous, and for the viewer to experience it without the influence of words.
