Sir Noël Peirce Coward (16 December 1899 – 26 March 1973) was an English playwright, composer, director, actor, producer, and singer. Clemence Dane (1888–1965) was a playwright, novelist, artist and actress, born in Greenwich, southeast London. In the 1920's she met and became close lifelong friends with Noel Coward.
