'Danny Rosen' was named after Basquiat's great friend and fellow regular of the downtown New York club scene. Rosen, Basquiat and the other members of his band 'Gray', developed a reputation at the clubs for their avant-garde dress sense and high energy dancing. The group became known as the 'Baby Crowd'.
