Modern artist Henri Émile Benoît Matisse was a French visual artist, known for both his use of colour and his fluid and original draughtsmanship. Composition on a green ground is exactly as described in the title. A variety of blue and black shapes, familiar from other Matisse cut-outs, join white swirls and yellow stars arrayed over a mid-green background.
